Welcome to St Andrews Harbour

seaward

The town of St Andrews rates as one of the most popular places to visit in Scotland, well known for its association with golf, as a holiday destination with fabulous beaches and historic visitor attractions, as well as its world renowned University. Less well known is the town's Harbour sitting on its eastern periphery, yet just a few steps from the busy town centre and nestling below the ruins of the mediaeval Cathedral and 33m tower of St Rule's church (a climb to the top of which is rewarded by wonderful panoramic views).

St Andrews harbour is home to a fleet of around a dozen small fishing vessels, landing high quality shellfish from around the nearby shores, which are sold locally, nationally and exported. A small, but growing, number of pleasure craft are also based within the sheltered waters of the Inner basin.

  • Harbour Gala - 15th July, 2017

    cartoon of a summer fete

Jun 2017: This year's Harbour Gala is to be held on Saturday 15 July and as usual we look forward to it being a fun day for all the family. Activities will get underway at 11am and include a wide mixture of traditional and modern attractions. There will be side-stalls with games to test your skills; displays; bouncy castles and refreshments. Arts & Crafts will also be on sale in one of the marquees.

We're also delighted that the Fisheries Museum Boats Club will have their small Fifie fishing vessel, sometimes called a Baldie, White Wing (ME113) visiting and open for you to look around. As you will appreciate White Wing and her big sister Reaper are like our Harbour expensive to run and maintain and we would be delighted to hear from any local businesses or individuals who might like to help us with sponsoring the visit or contribute towards the Harbour Gala in other ways including the Raffle, stalls and refreshments.

  • Harbour Trust 50:50 Club

    image saying updated

June 2017: Thank you to all who supported the Trust's new 50:50 Club last year, which raised a very healthy amount of around £500 towards maintenance activities at the harbour. Existing ticket holders will be being contacted recently to renew your numbers for this coming year, while new members are of course also welcome. The first draw for 2017-18 will be at the end of July.

For just £10 per year, you can purchase a ticket that will be entered into each monthly draw, while at the same time supporting the upkeep of St Andrews Harbour. As the name suggests, half the monies raised will be put back into the prize fund and two numbers will be drawn each month for members to have the chance of winning. The more taking part the bigger the prizes, so please sign up now - application forms can be downloaded from the link below and will also be availabe at the HArbour Gala on 15th July.
