Facilities within St Andrews Harbour are limited at this time as the Trust seeks to put in place the funding and permissions necessary to bring to fruition a planned modernisation programme that is sympathetic to the harbour's ancient history. Details of facilities available within the harbour or nearby within the town itself are provided below, but please feel free to contact the Harbour Master or use the online form for further assistance.

Toilets and Showers

There are public toilets available next to the stone archway on the west side of the harbour and at the south end of the grass area on the east side of the harbour(apologies for the condition - not run by the Trust).

Diesel

Fuel and diesel are available from local garages. There is a Shell station (24 hour) located on Bridge Street close to the West Port at the west end of South Street and Morrisons supermarket station located at the junction of Largo Road and John Knox Road on the southern edge of the town.

Stores

There is a harbour café located between the outer and inner basins which sells hot and cold snacks to eat-in or take-away, confectionery, and beach toys. At the south end of the harbour there is a second snack shop located in the ground floor of the Sailing Club building also selling hot and cold snacks to take-away.

The town centre is just 5 minutes walk from the harbour and boasts a wide range of both individual shops and high street chains.

Medical Care

In the event of a medical emergency call 999 and ask for an ambulance.

St Andrews Community Hospital: No A&E, minor injuries unit only. Incorporates dental and GP surgeries. Largo Road, St Andrews, KY16 8AR. Telephone 01334 465656.

Other Amenities

Vehicle Parking: A limited amount of free parking is available along the Priory Wall adjacent the Inner Basin, accessed via Balfour Place or The Pends. Additional free parking is also available at the south end of the harbour accessible via Woodburn Place.

Telephone: A public telephone is located by the roadside opposite the harbour café.

Slipway: A slipway is located at the south end of the Inner Basin, accessed via Woodburn Place. During normal harbour operations this area is tidal and launching/recovery is restricted to approximately 2 hours before and after high water.

Flares: Time expired pyrotechnics are collected for safe disposal by St Andrews Coastguard Rescue Team at their base 500m south of the harbour along the East Sands. Collection dates for 2017 are: dates coming soon from 10:00 to 16:00 - please call UK Coastguard (Aberdeen CGOC) on 01224 592334 to confirm opening times or arrange an alternative collection time.

Children's Play Area and Outdoor Gym Kit: located on the grassy links area between the harbour and East Sands (The Bents).

East Sands Leisure Centre is a 5 minute walk to the south of the harbour and has an indoor pool, squash courts, Inspiration Fitness Suite, snooker and pool, steam room and spa bath.

Visitor Centres within the Cathedral grounds adjacent to the harbour and at St Andrews Castle just a 5 minute walk away on The Scores.

Museums: Museum of the University of St Andrews (MUSA) on The Scores; St Andrews Museum in Kinburn Park; British Golf Museum opposite the R&A; and St Andrews Preservation Trust Museum at the east end of North Street.
